  • succeed的基本意思是“成功”“获得成功”,指某人在工作、理想、抱负、尝试等方面获得成功或达到目的,作此解时succeed为不及物动词,后面通常接“in+ n./v -ing”结构。
  • succeed还可作“继承”解,指继承财产、地位、头衔,也可指某物或某事以时间、顺序继续或跟着某事物而来。用作及物动词时,接名词或代词作宾语,可用于被动结构。
  • succeed后接介词to,在意义上和作用上与succeed没有什么差别。
