occur, happen, take place
  • The explosion happened〔occurred〕 during an exercise near the town.
  • The talk is scheduled to take place tomorrow morning at eight o'clock.
  • These events happened〔occured〕 last year.
  • What happened after I left?
  • It didn't occur to him to ask for help.

It occurred me suddenly that I had not handed in my paper.

It occurred to me that I had not handed in my paper.

It occurs〔occurred〕 to sb 结构。

Do you think there will occur a World War III?

Do you think there will be a World War III?
